The Griffins failed to comeback late against Goldey-Beacom College losing 81–74 in Sorgenti Arena.
Junior Forward Neal Hill won the jump ball and scored the first points of the game with a statement dunk. The Bolts responded with an offensive explosion while the Griffins went cold. Coach Radomicki called a timeout trailing 15–6 with 13:27 remaining in the first half
Out of the break, Chestnut Hill gained momentum on both sides of the floor. Over the course of the next five minutes, they cut Goldey-Beacom’s lead to two.
The Griffins were able to briefly tie the game before half but the Bolts drilled at three with 30 seconds left to enter the locker room up 32–29.
The Bolts came out firing to start the second half, controlling both sides of the ball to go up 48–39 with 14:09 left.
On the next possession, the Griffins called a timeout to regroup. Rallying, the Griffins tied the game with 10:09 remaining courtesy of a layup from sophomore guard Marshall Baker who converted his and-one attempt to take Chestnut Hill’s first lead of the game.
Beacom controlled the rest of the game to cruise to victory. Coach Radomicki said after the game, “They hit timely shots. That’s way it goes sometimes and that’s our biggest challenge right now trying to get timely stops to win some games.”
The Griffins are now 7–19 and look to improve their record Saturday at 3:00 versus Holy Family University at Sorgenti Arena.
