For the first time in 15 years, the Chestnut Hill College women’s soccer team has a home playoff game in the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference Championships.

On Nov. 8, the third-seeded Griffins will face No. 6 Goldey-Beacom University in at 5 p.m. at Victory Field #1 at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

The Griffins defeated the Lightning, 2-1, at home on Sept. 16 for their first win of the season. After that win, the Griffins went 7-3-1.

In 2022, the Griffins reached the championship match, in which they lost, 2-0, to the University of Bridgeport. Senior midfielder Lauren Sullivan, who was then in her first year, tore her ACL in the loss to Bridgeport. This could become a full circle moment as she looks to get back to the championship.

Senior forward Rebecca Dalton also played in that 2022 championship match. This year, she is the Griffins’ top goal-scorer, with eight goals, including one against Goldey-Beacom on Sept. 16.

Griffins goalie junior Ellie Stratz led the CACC in save percentage (87.3 percent), and the team finished with the second-fewest goals allowed with 14, second to Jefferson.

The winner of the No. 3 CHC vs. No. 6 Goldey-Beacom match will face the winner of No. 2 Caldwell University vs. No. 7 Bridgeport.
