Update: Student Reactions to CHC Plan to Increase Friday Classes

On Feb. 7, Chestnut Hill College faculty were informed of the administration’s plan to replace the current Monday-Wednesday class meeting schedule with a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. One week later, the college had not officially notified students of this change, but faculty discussed their opinions with The Griffin.

The Griffin recently spoke to students about this plan to increase Friday classes. Their comments are below.

“I don’t like [the new schedule]. It’s hard in the fall because I play soccer. Friday’s kind of like my free day where I have one class and then I can relax before I have to go to practice because the whole week is jammed up.”
— Maddie Camillo, sophomore, health sciences major

“I think we should stick with the schedule we have now because it keeps everyone with less stress on their head and allows them to focus on one class at a time.”
Josiah Wiggins, first-year student, health sciences major

“As someone who takes Monday-Wednesday classes, I think I could handle a Friday, but its going to be very time consuming. Whatever the college decides we don’t have much of a choice so might as well go with it.”
— Jeron Cole, sophomore, criminal justice major
