After a quiet attendance at the Encanto movie night outside the gym, the La Voz club hoped to rebound with another uplifting event on Oct. 15. I attended the club’s meeting on Oct. 3, when I spoke to the group about ideas of what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe want to do something more upbeat and interactive,\u201d said senior Gladyeliz Hernandez, club president. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main idea is to have an event held in either the Redmond Room or the East Parlor to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. With Oct. 15 being the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month, the the club planned to have a get-together with music, games, drinks, and food all of Hispanic culture. Not only would the idea bring people together, but it would make noise, which is the club\u2019s main objective. Along with decorations and a good setup, the club hoped to spread awareness and create a crowd at school, knowing it\u2019s something the school struggles with occasionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La Voz had another meeting on Oct. 10 to try to put the finishing touches on fully executing the event. The club is really looking forward to hosting a successful event, and potentially the first of many throughout the school year. All of the other members, including myself, are doing our part by putting up flyers, and promoting events by being there and even get students feedback about it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
