{"id":1164,"date":"2025-11-07T15:24:58","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T20:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thechcgriffin.news\/?p=1164"},"modified":"2025-11-07T15:26:37","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T20:26:37","slug":"womens-soccer-hosts-cacc-playoff-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechcgriffin.news\/?p=1164","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s Soccer Hosts CACC Playoff Game"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Cornell Gould<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time in 15 years, the Chestnut Hill College women\u2019s soccer team has a home playoff game in the <a href=\"https:\/\/caccathletics.org\/news\/2025\/11\/7\/2025-cacc-womens-soccer-championship-kicks-off-saturday.aspx\">Central Athletic Collegiate Conference Championships<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Nov. 8, the third-seeded Griffins will face No. 6 Goldey-Beacom University in at 5 p.m. at Victory Field #1 at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/griffinathletics.com\/news\/2025\/9\/16\/womens-soccer-griffins-earn-first-win-of-season-defeating-lightning-2-1.aspx\">Griffins defeated the Lightning<\/a>, 2-1, at home on Sept. 16 for their first win of the season. After that win, the Griffins went 7-3-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the Griffins reached the championship match, in which <a href=\"https:\/\/griffinathletics.com\/news\/2022\/11\/6\/womens-soccer-griffins-lose-hard-fought-match-to-purple-knights-in-cacc-championship-game.aspx\">they lost, 2-0, to the University of Bridgeport<\/a>. Senior midfielder Lauren Sullivan, who was then in her first year, tore her ACL in the loss to Bridgeport. This could become a full circle moment as she looks to get back to the championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior forward Rebecca Dalton also played in that 2022 championship match. This year, she is the Griffins&#8217; top goal-scorer, with eight goals, including one against Goldey-Beacom on Sept. 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Griffins goalie junior Ellie Stratz led the CACC in save percentage (87.3 percent), and the team finished with the second-fewest goals allowed with 14, second to Jefferson.  &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner of the No. 3 CHC vs. No. 6 Goldey-Beacom match will face the winner of No. 2 Caldwell University vs. No. 7 Bridgeport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Cornell Gould For the first time in 15 years, the Chestnut Hill College women\u2019s soccer team has a home playoff game in the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference Championships.
