The Chestnut Hill College men\u2019s lacrosse team travels to Lakewood, N.J. today to face Georgian Court in the semifinals of the 2025 CACC tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Griffins have won the last four CACC championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Griffins lost, 10-7, in their last game against Georgian Court, on April 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the team\u2019s mindset heading into the game and these playoffs, senior attacker Noah Hammon said, \u201cWe need to start strong. I mean, we know we\u2019re the better team. We were up 5-1 when we played earlier this month. We just shot terribly in the second half and couldn’t make the stops we needed to make.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CHC clinched a first-round bye after defeating Post last week in a hard-fought 10-9 victory at home. The Griffins finished the regular season 6-2 in conference play and 7-5 overall and are poised for a strong showing against a team who got the better of them last time out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOverall, though, we feel good,” Hammon said. “We\u2019re all healthy, we got all our pieces back, it\u2019s really just starting fast, starting strong, and maintaining that for four quarters.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Face off is set for 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Griffins leading scorers are senior attacker Sam Slater, who has 23 goals, and graduate student and midfielder Mick Kilgallon, who has 26. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to chasing their fifth consecutive CACC championship, the Griffins have a chance to make the NCAA Division II tournament, as the winner of the conference championship will receive an automatic bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the Griffins can replicate their performances from the last four seasons, they will punch their ticket at a chance to win the school\u2019s first ever national championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
